New Lacquer Finish Care:
We recommend suspending your lacquer finished guitar body from a hook for a few days before assembling to allow it to become accustomed to your climate. Simply untwist a metal coat hanger, thread an end through one of the neck screw holes and carefully hang it up. Use hand tools only when assembling the guitar. Don't use electric or battery operated screw drivers and don't over-tighten screws.

Nitro Lacquer Finish Care Guide:
Please do not subject any stringed instrument, electric or acoustic, to extremes of hot and cold. For example, do not leave your guitar in a car in the heat of summer or in freezing weather. Don't place it next to a heating vent or leave it in the garage all winter. Nitro lacquer, whether a new finish or a vintage one, should not come in contact with plastic products because a chemical reaction can occur. Bubble wrap can damage a finish very quickly. If your guitar stand doesn't have surgical tubing covering the parts that come into contact with the guitar (most don't), lay a piece of clean 100% cotton old t-shirt or toweling over the stand. Guitar stand "bras" are also very useful for protecting the finish on your guitar. Many spray can products, such as fly spray and hair spray contain alcohol and other damaging ingredients. Don't use them near an uncovered guitar. Do not lay a guitar body on newsprint. The ink may end up in your finish! The best way to store a guitar body until you have time to assemble the guitar is by hanging it.

Soundhole humidifiers, such as the Kyser Lifeguard Humidifier or Dampit are highly recommended for acoustic guitars. Over-drying can cause the top to collapse and the whole guitar to "move" or change shape.
