Daphne Blue finish over 3 tone Sunburst alder. First two photos are a little light in color. They show the finished guitar body, customized to a #4 grade finish, with the Sunburst showing through around the edges, in the dings, center back and lower bout wear on front. Next two photos show the same body when distressed to #3, wear on the lower bout, a few chips and dings, finish is deglossed. Wood is two pieces, side joined. Body contour is 1950's style. Weight about 4 lbs 11oz. Last 2 photos show the SB underneath. We first did this type of finish in the mid 1990's.

Our blueprints for the guitar body were established by taking measurements from original 1960's Strat guitars that came through our shop for restoration or refinishing. GRGuitars.com pattern template for this body was taken by measuring 1950's and 60's Tele guitars that came through our shop for refinishing. Neck pocket is routed to standard Fender specs. Mexican made Tele necks probably won't fit without adjustment because their heel is often oversized. This guitar body was ordered by a customer a year or two ago and not paid for. Dug it out of a corner when we moved last year.
