About wired Tele control plate assemblies: Switch wiring for assemblies above will be 1966 type unless you specify otherwise in an email referring to your shopping cart order number. Here's the difference: The '52 wiring has a bassy rhythm tone in the first position of the switch. The middle position is neck pickup only, the third is bridge only. The main difference between the '53 and the '66 is that the 1966 style allows for combination of neck and bridge pickup together in the middle position.
Early 1950's chrome knobs had a dome top. From 1958 on vintage Teles usually had flat barrel type knobs.
Early 50's Tele's had slot head screws-kit available below.
About 4-way pickup switch wiring: Standard 3-way switch is wired in parallel. 4-way switch is wired in series,
provides fatter tone, higher output:
1st position: Bridge pickup (standard Tele tone)
2nd position: Bridge & neck pickups in parallel (standard Tele tone)
3rd position: Neck pickup (standard Tele tone)
4th position: Neck & bridge pickups in series (fatter tone than pos. 2 & more output than either pos. 1, 2, or 3)
Please note: One of the advantages of the 4-Way Tele Mod is that it doesn't change the appearance of your instrument.
However, the switch is used differently.

FAQ: How is bridge string spacing measured?
String through holes in the bridge are measured center to center from two outside holes:
This one has 2 1/8" spacing.
If you are working on a new build, measure string through holes on front of body.

"No logo" stamped on casing-plain kluson tuning keys were used on Fender guitars from mid 1951 until 1957. From 1957-1964 each key had "Kluson Deluxe" stamped on the casing in a single line.

Double line, with the "Kluson Deluxe" stamped twice on each tuner casing, was used from 1964-1967.

This is a great sounding pickup, one of our favorites for Tele. Vintage-correct reproduction of Broadcaster® pickup. Recommended for traditional country, country pop, chicken pickin’, rockabilly, blues, and blues-rock. description The 1948 pre-Telecaster® pickup had an exceptional twangy, “nasal” sound with tremendous sustain. Leo Fender called it the Broadcaster®. The STL-1b duplicates this sought-after vintage sound with larger-diameter (.197”) pole pieces in a flat pole piece orientation. Compared to the Vintage ‘54, this pickup has slightly more output and more snarl in the mids. The STR-1 is the correct match in the rhythm (neck) position

FAQ: I've selected a single cutaway guitar body, Tele neck and a wired assembly and hardware kit (SChrd20NW). What other parts do I need to make a complete guitar? You'll need a nut for the guitar neck, guitar strings, a Tele pickguard, and a set of Tele pickups. The body can be oiled or finished with paint or lacquer to your own preference. The neck should be painted or lacquered, not oiled, for wood stability. For first time guitar builders, it may be easier to buy a lacquer finished neck and use just the unfinished body to teach yourself painting. If the paint doesn't work out it can be stripped with appropriate paint stripper.

All unfinished necks are stamped "licensed by Fender" on the heel. Neck heel width is about 56 mm.
